Sunset 65 foot Luxury Catamaran
The art of creating the best catamaran always involves skilled judgments
on how best to compromise performance with comfort. With SHANGRI-LA this is not the case, the powerful lines of the hull elegantly shroud the opulent luxury of the internal accommodation. Electing to build from the most modern advanced-composite materials, a dramatic saving of weight in the structural components has allowed a large degree of leniency when it comes to ships systems and creature comforts. SHANGRI-LA is therefore a no-compromise, fast, comfortable, yet majestic catamaran. From bow to transom and keel to mast head, she will changee the rules of yacht design, yacht construction. Luxury is of the highest standard and is nothing short of what can be expected in any five star hotel. A light and airy interior was produced with numerous hatches and port lights being positioned in strategic places. The wrap around windows in the salon add to this feature. The entire layout is designed around keeping the guest area separate from the working areas of the yacht. The five guest cabins all lead off the main salon. This area is of regal size with a large seating arrangement to port which can be used as a formal dining area. To starboard there is a stylish bar and an aft facing navigation station while the TV, VCR and Hi-fi system awaits you to port.
There are Four tastefully appointed air-conditioned guest suites. All the guest cabins have been adjusted for size and features to make them near equal. Two feature King sized beds the other Two have queen beds. All Feature individual stereos, shaving sockets, full length mirrors, hanging lockers and ample storage space. All cabins are en-suite with fresh-water flush electric toilets hand basins and separate showers.
From experience, guests gather either in the cockpit, or forward on the trampoline. These features were therefore made as large and as comfortable as possible. This again added to the aesthetics of the yacht.
The cockpit and aft deck can be fully covered when sailing with the bimini. There are loose tables and deck chairs allowing flexibility to create different arrangements for various functions. These tables and deck chairs double as salon tables and additional seating when not in use in the cockpit. The outside steering positions are neatly arranged out of the mainstream between cockpit and salon and allow for easy control and good visibility. All control lines are easy accessed from the helm stations and the yacht can be operated effortlessly without interfering with the guest areas. It was also an owners request that all winches be powered and that all Halyards, sheets and reefing lines be led back to the helm station so that reefs could be put in without leaving the helm position. Load meters are installed on Halyard and Genoa lines for effective monitoring of this powerful yacht.
Situated to starboard, the galley has been designed with luxury catering in mind. Incorporating state of the art equipment found in modern household kitchens. Ample refrigerator and freezer space, large gas stove with oven, microwave oven, ice maker, extractor fan and dishwasher are incorporated. A large amount of storage space has been made available in the galley.
